Not far from Tirana there is an amazing panorama of the village Shen Gjergj. It is worth visiting it in any season as in each it can offer you a lot to see and to do. Splendid colors and fantastic terrain to see. After passing the beauties of Mount Dajt, you start seeing mountains, forests, brooks that make your journey fresh and picturesque. It takes less than an hour (about 40 min) to leave the capital and arrive at the destination.
It is thought that in the XII-XIV centuries it was called "Tomadhe" or "Tame Dea" - Goddess of Water Sources. After the year 1600, it got the name "Shengjergji". There are many churches in the territory of Shëngjergji. The existence of the names of the villages Shengjergji, Shenmri, Shengjin, as old settlements; the inhabited villages nowadays are close to each other and have the names of dozens of saints.
Shengjergji has a mountainous relief where the lowest elevation is the bed of the Erzen River and the highest elevation is “Mountain with Pits". We will visit this area that is surrounded by wonderful views with hilly and mountainous terrains. The area of Shengjergji is rich with numerous water sources and lakes.
We are going to have a picnic near these lakes and it will taste really good having it.
What to visit:
Shengjin Waterfall, Shengjin Castle Ruins, Saint George's Castle, Val Cave, the Holy Place and the old tomb as well as Mount Gropa.
You need to do the first 22 km to see the fascinating waterfall of Shen Gjergj. It has a height of 30 meters and the water comes from the Mount with pits (Mali me gropa). Here we will make a stop and have the clean and fresh air that this place offers.

This is the biggest city in the north of Albania, Shkodra. It is otherwise called the city of the bikes.
One of the main highlights of the city is the castle of Rozafa, which rises over a rock hill. It is considered as one of the biggest Castles in Balkan. Among the objects that can be visited, in addition to the fortification system, we can mention the church of St. Stephen, which was later turned into a mosque, the captain's office, the prison, the Saranjas and the secret exits.
The view that is offered to you when you are up the castle is so rare and hard to be found somewhere else. It shows you how a lake gives birth to a river. How everything is from up there seen differently.
The city is surrounded by the waters of three amazing rivers such as Kir, Buna and Drini. They can be seen from up there. Together we will make each second worth it.
The atmosphere will change totally if we go down the castle to visit the Venice art mask factory.
The mask exhibit at the Venice Art Mask Factory contains the most diverse and exquisite collection of Venetian masks. The whole process needs to go through a lot of hands of 12 or 13 people. You may find it hard which one is your favorite. They are all unique.
Nonetheless, the place we are going after the castle that is worth seeing is the lake of Shkodra. It is one of the largest lakes in Balkan and in Southern Europe. It is a karst lake and it is named after the name of the city.
